Reading Health System, a 700+ bed tertiary care facility is a not-for-profit, independent, academic medical center and a Level II trauma center located in West Reading, PA. We are seeking Board Eligible/Board Certified fellowship trained Pediatric Emergency Medicine physicians to staff a growing, active, established pediatric emergency department.
Our Emergency Department currently treats 135,000 patients annually including 28,000 children per year. Construction planning is underway to create an 18-bed self-contained pediatric emergency department within our 120 bed ED. We are a collegial, fully employed physician group serving the city of Reading and all of Berks County, PA, with a population in excess of 400,000. We have the support of 24-hour in-patient pediatric and adult hospitalists, trauma surgery, obstetrics, and anesthesiology. The Reading Health System currently has successful Obstetrics and Gynecology, Internal Medicine and Family Medicine residency programs. It serves as a teaching site for medical students, advanced practice provider trainees, and rotating fellows. An Emergency Medicine Residency Program is anticipated to begin in July 2018.
