Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center’s Department of Surgery in Lebanon, New Hampshire is seeking a BC/BE Transplant Surgeon to join our solid-organ transplant program. The ideal candidate will be involved in the coordination, organization and growth of the kidney and pancreas transplant program. Key duties include supervision of all transplant care from pre-transplant evaluations, transplant surgery and post-surgical care rendered by other faculty, Nephrology Fellows and surgical residents. The candidate will be expected to collaborate with the department, surgical section, hospital, and community on initiatives to expand the scope of services provided by the transplant program. The candidate will participate in developing policy to meet regulatory standards through prospective and retrospective systems analysis of all phases of transplantation and be actively involved in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement programs. Responsible for education of medical students and General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, and Urology house staff. An academic appointment through the Geisel School of Medicine will be requested, at a rank commensurate with qualifications. The ideal candidate must also have interest in vascular and/or abdominal surgery.
Minimum qualifications include two years of transplant fellowship in an approved American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS) program, board certified/eligible with the American Board of Surgery and New Hampshire State Medical License eligibility. The ideal candidate will be BC/BE in surgery with advanced training in kidney and pancreas transplant, and laparoscopic donor nephrectomy. There will also be opportunities for dialysis access surgery and general surgery. Research support is available depending on experience and qualifications of the candidate.
